The 2015 Download Festival is destined to be the best yet! Top bands in the lineup include Slipknot, Muse and Kiss, plus many more. This Donington Park, Leicestershire event has been held every year since 2003 and is one of the premier heavy metal and rock events in the UK.
The festival originally started as a follow up to the Monsters of Rock festivals of the 1980’s and 90’s. Many people wonder how the festival came to be called Download. When the festival started, downloading was considered a dirty word in the music industry, and so to call a festival by that name was very much seen as an act of rock rebellion.
This year the festival takes place on the weekend of 12 – 14 June and tickets are available from the festival website. The campsites and car parks are open from Wednesday June 10 and are available until Monday June 15. Make sure you are prepared for everything that an English summer can throw at you by bringing sunscreen and sunglasses, as well as rainwear and warm clothing.
USB-equipped personal lockers are available in the campsites, so you can keep your valuables safe, and your electronic equipment charged, and you even get to keep your “Lockerhouse” padlock as a souvenir. Standard lockers are also available in the arena to ticketholders.
