About This Festival
For 65 years, the Delcamber, Louisiana Shrimp Festival has been a cultural mainstay of summertime. Located just twenty miles Southwest of Lafayette, Delcamber has one of the most prolific shrimping fleets in the country. Delcamber honors that heritage by consuming shrimp cooked every way imaginable each August. The Delcamber Shrimp Festival is five days of fun for all ages. With a variety of delicious, gourmet shrimp dishes and live, musical entertainment, Delcamber is the place to be. This event offers food booths, carnival rides, shrimp cook-offs, an queens pageants. Every dish at the festival is created by volunteers offering up their gourmet services for five days each year.
