The Annual LaPlace Andouille festival pays homage to the French and German settlers who originally pioneered the Louisiana area. Today, the memory of the early settlers lives on in the traditional Louisiana sausage. The festive event features food, music, arts and crafts, a parade and much more. Every year, thousands of celebrants arrive at the festival grounds with the expectation of participating in events, such as the Jazz Brunch, the Gumbo Cook-off, and the “Dang Douille” Andouille eating contest.
