About Festivals, Craft Shows and Fairs in Maryland

In many ways, Maryland epitomises the entirety of the United States. Though small, it packs in plenty, with glistening coasts, soaring mountains, cosmopolitan cities, small-town vibes, friendly faces and a smorgasbord of scrumptious culinary offerings. It also delivers an annual program of varied and interesting events and festivals, with appealing offerings for every resident and visitor.

Bowie International Festival mirrors the diversity of Maryland, and is brimming with international offerings of food, traditions, culture and more. The festival promises to take you “around the world in just one day” with entertainment, arts, crafts, snacks, meals, entertainers, dancers, artists and more. All of these attractions come from each corner of the globe, so it’s a perfect place to learn, see and engage – and for families to experience the very best of global culture.

Loads of family fun is also available over almost two months in Gaylord’s indoor ICE event, which celebrates the wintry festive traditions of USA, England, Germany and more. There are ice slides, ice-carving zones, walk-through holiday attractions, ice slides, parades and visits from the iconic and legendary bearded man himself! The entire event contains more than two-million pounds of breath-taking and unbelievable hand-carved ice sculptures. It’s frosty, it’s frozen, and it’s fun - and it serves as an ideal way to warm up (or cool down!) for the festive season.

Delfest is a bluegrass music festival dedicated to the music and influence of the Bluegrass Hall of Famer Del McCoury. For four days, you can treat yourself to some of the very best bluegrass tunes, with covers of McCoury’s music and a program of many famous names and local talents. The event also features one-time-only collaborations, special guest chats, workshops, picking sessions, discussions and more musical happenings. The whole festival is dedicated to providing and promoting chilled out vibes, with camping areas, food, drinks, a kids’ zone and plenty more. If you fancy some tunes, then search no more! For those seeking something different, Hollywood Bluegrass Festival offers a smaller and more intimate setting, with lots more musical moments to be had.

Other Maryland festivals are dedicated to crafts, parades, foods, races, aeroplanes, African American heritage, fish, arts, crabs, books, music, beer and birds. So if you’re hoping to find a festival for you, then Maryland will have one in store. Come along to the Old Line State and have yourself a good time!
