Minneapolis and the surrounding areas are home to several dozen yearly events that expose the visitor to art, culture and music. Festivals in Minneapolis include the Minnesota State Fair, a 12-day event where visitors can try new foods, view art, make crafts and more. Other Minneapolis events include the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, which takes place between the middle of August and the end of September. Visitors should also be sure not to miss the Japanese Lanterning Lighting Festival, Art in Bloom at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and Northern Spark, and all-night art fest like no other.
There are also plenty of Minneapolis music festivals to audiophiles to enjoy, too. Soundset takes place in May every year and features popular hip-hop acts while country lovers can enjoy Moondance Jamming Country Fest. cOMmon Grounds combines music and yoga in one festival while the Galactic Get Down Music Festival is an out-of-this-world music festival with camping that overlooks the lake.
