The Yankee Peddler Festival is a 45-year long tradition held every September at Clay's Park Resort in North Lawrence, OH. For three weekends, the park is transformed to Colonial times. Artisans and vendors dress in Early American clothing and offer handcrafted items made only with materials and methods that were available during 1776 – 1825. Crafters demonstrate their skills and display a history of the craft they share. Colonial style food is cooked over open fires to a background of music. The air of authenticity is enhanced by militia and mountain men milling about, town criers, blacksmiths, and covered wagons.
