About This Festival
Top chefs and barbecue lovers have descended annually upon Owensboro for the International Barbecue Festival. Chefs from near and far compete for the Governor's Cup - which is awarded to the team with the best cuisine. This festival provides the perfect opportunity to sample a variety of barbecued meats, including beef, chicken, mutton and burgoo. The event also features a Backyard Cookoff for amateur barbecuers, musical entertainment, a car show, and children's activities.
