Tennessee Festivals 2015
Tennessee loves country music and is home to many internationally acclaimed country music stars. For this reason alone music festivals are huge in Tennessee and so are other noteworthy events available year round.
The first of the Festivals in Tennessee that we will explore is the Bonnaroo Music Festival which is held at Great Stage Park in Manchester. The festival typically starts on the second Thursday in June and lasts four days. Live music plays each day and into the night, where you can hear a variety of music paying tribute to its roots in folk rock.
CMA Music festival continues to be one of Tennessee Music Festivals ultimate county music fan experiences. Every summer, thousands of fans from across the globe come to Nashville for four days of live concerts, meet and greets, autograph signings, and much more. This year’s nightly line-up included some of your favorite artists such as Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, and Keith Urban to name a few.
Memphis in May International Festival is one of the only Tennessee Festivals that lasts an entire month. The festival is split into four main events.
- The Beale Street Music Festival is a three-day event that has big name stars performing side by side with local musicians.
- International Week sets its theme around a different country each year, 2015 salutes Poland and will showcases the local foods and entertainment that contribute to the country’s cultural background.
- The World Championship Barbeque Cooking Contest has grown to be the largest pork barbecue competition in the world.
- The Sunset Symphony event is held on a single stage at Tom Lee Park during the last Saturday evening in May. The concert is the largest annual performance event of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.
Many of the festivals that make their home in Tennessee provide additional activities like air shows or fireworks. No matter which city, there are lively festivals one can attend.
