Temple Bar TradFest 2024

January, 2024

Various venues, Dublin, Ireland

About This Festival

TradFest Temple Bar began in 2005 as a small traditional music festival. Over the past 10 years it has grown to be something very special - a festival showcasing the cream of both Irish and international trad and folk artists while also providing a springboard for the next generation of Irish musicianship going from strength to strength. Organised by the Temple Bar traders through the umbrella organisation of The Temple Bar Company, the Festival was instigated and is still proudly supported and run by them.

TradFest Temple Bar will run from 27-31 January 2016. It will once again offer concert goers opportunities to experience live music in some of Dublin’s most historic places. Concert-goers get to breathe-in Dublin’s rich cultural heritage even as they feel every note. In 2016 Festival venues will range from City Hall to Dublin Castle to St Patrick’s Cathedral.

The festival celebrates Trad & Folk in many forms with something for everyone in terms of musical style from pure traditional to folk to contemporary musical – we call it ‘Radical Trad’. The 2016 programme will include acts as diverse as Martin Hayes to Duke Special, The Oyster Band to The Stunning.

This year star studded gala nights will bring a mix of artists together as well as introducing new and emerging talent to Irish audiences.

The festival will also feature a wide range of free events including Pipe Bands, Céilí, Nightly Pub Sessions, Workshops, Exhibitions, Film Screenings and Free Fun for all the family.
