This 73rd annual family-fun event features midway rides and games for all ages, the educational and interactive Aussie Kingdom animal attraction, Old McNally's Pig Races, Firefighter Training Show, Magic Shows, DJ Cowboy, live music, large and small animal exhibits, Heritage Farm displays, a train display, community exhibits, educational booths, crafts and lost arts demonstrations, contests and favorite fair food.
Fair highlights include Hog Showmanship Show (6:30 pm Wednesday), Southern Gospel Program (6-9 pm Thursday) and Miss Chowan County Regional Fair Queen Pageant (6 pm Saturday).
Fair admission is $8 (free for children under 36 inches tall) on site or $6 in advance online. (Pre-sale ends Mon., Sept. 30 at 11:59 pm.)
On Tuesday, Car Load Night, fair admission and unlimited rides are $60 per vehicle for up to 6 passengers.
Unlimited ride wristbands (for riders 36 inches and taller) are $20 each on site or $17 online in advance. A Family 4 Pack (2 adults/2 child wristbands) is $85 online in advance.
Ride tickets are also available at the fair for $1.50 each, $30 for 20 tickets, or $60 for 50 tickets plus 1 free ride. (Rides take 2 or more tickets each.)
Admission for K-12 students is $4 on Wednesday and Thursday. Seniors ages 60 and older are admitted free on Thursday, with special activities, entertainment and prizes from 4 to 6 pm. On Saturday, Military Appreciation Day, ride wristbands are $10 each for active military and their families with ID.
Fair hours are 4 to 11 pm Tuesday - Friday and 11 am to midnight Saturday.
