The Estacada community and kids are the focus of Harvest Festival on Saturday, Sept. 28, 1 – 5 pm in Harvest Market Square. It is a fun afternoon of activities, games and contests with kids as the top priority.
The activities (and starting times) include: Hay Rides (1-4 pm); Chili Cook-off (2-4 pm); Pie Eating Contest (register at 3 pm, eat pie at 4:15); Pumpkin Painting and other kids games (start at 1pm); and bike decorating contest (or any other non-motorized, wheeled conveyance such as trikes, wagons, wheelbarrows, etc.) are judged at 3pm. There will also be a dunk tank, live music and surprises.
More details about all the games and competitions can be found on the website at www.EstacadaHarvest.com. Registration and rules for the Chili Cook-off are also available on-line.
This is the fourth year of the Harvest Festival sponsored by Harvest Market in cooperation with the Downtown Estacada Commission. The DEC's mission is, in part, to promote downtown events for people of all ages. Along with the outreach to promote Harvest Festival, fliers also remind families that the profits from the sale of pumpkins at Harvest Market in October are donated to the Estacada School District.
Chili Smackdown - We are hosting the second annual chili cook off in Downtown Estacada. It is free to come to the event and taste the chili while you are enjoying all the other events that are part of the Harvest Festival.
Chili Cook-Off contestants pay a $20 entry fee and compete for a 50/50 grand prize. Voting is done by tasters who tip with dollar bills in your jar if they like yours best. Each cook gets to designate a local non-profit to get half your tip jar, the other half goes to Estacada Development Association, the 501c3 non-profit putting this event on!
Time: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
