Celebrating the 250th birthday of Beethoven
The Auryn Quartet with a career spanning over three decades, the Auryn Quartet is one of the most sought-after and respected ensembles around the globe, renowned for its interpretative mastery, individuality and intensity of expression. Still comprised of its original members, the quartet continues with a fresh and pioneering approach to all genres of music, being particularly well-known for performances of the complete Haydn and Beethoven quartet cycles. Its mastery has been recognized over the years with a number awards, including first prizes at the ARD Munich and Portsmouth competitions. The quartet performs at festivals worldwide, is artistic advisor to the Mondsee festival in Austria, and has its own festival in the Veneto. In North America, it has appeared at prestigious venues such as the Frick Collection, Alice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall, and with chamber music societies, including those of Philadelphia and Los Angeles. The quartet currently holds a professorship at the Musikhochschule Detmold in Germany.
