Summer is officially upon us and our beaches are getting busier by the day — and we need your help!
The 2015 BeachSAFE Appeal is Surf Life Saving WA's key fundraising event to assist volunteers with their lifesaving work, including maintaining rescue gear and equipment, training and educating the community.
In WA alone, volunteer Surf Lifesavers performed 109,272 patrol hours, 881 rescues, 19,992 preventative actions and administered first aid to 2,252 people in the last year.
Our beautiful beaches are free, but these lifesaving services cost money to run.
From 7am until 9pm on Friday 11th December, volunteer surf lifesavers will head to the streets of Perth and Fremantle to raise money for this great cause — be sure to spare some change when you see them!
