About This Festival
The 2022 Backyard BBQ Cookoff is a fundraising event with regional and local BBQ Smoker Entries from local residents who have a knack for smoking great tasting Boston Butts in their backyard as well as those who Smoke BBQ professionally. This is your chance to taste and sample 22 of the area's best BBQ of the Best who will compete to win TOP HONORS in this regional competition. Love Live Music then Come listen and enjoy some of the Top Wilmington Areas Bands (Schedule To be Announced). Sip on a cold Beer or one of your favorite wines while relaxing in this open theatre type atmosphere of the Fort Fisher Grounds. Don't forget your lawn chairs so you can relax and enjoy the breeze and Sun along the Cape Fear River while watching the live bands on Stage. Stroll around the grounds and Visit a wide range of Artisan Vendors who will be displaying their creations all day. Every attendee will get 10 tasting tickets with their $10 Admission/Donation to the event. Children under 10 are free.
We also will have Italian Ice Vendor, Concession Stand with Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chips and Sodas for purchase. Taste tickets can also be used with cash at the concession stand.
Two of Wilmington' Favorite Bands will be playing - THE SOUTH TONES - easy listening music and THE PHANTOM PLAYBOYS - rock and roll along with some blues. South Tones start at 11:30AM and Phantom Playboys play from 2PM to 4:30PM.
The BEACHES AND BOOTS line dancing group will perform between bands.
