New Jersey events include music festivals, film festivals, arts and crafts festivals, ethnic heritage festivals, and food festivals. Some are established traditions, that have been celebrated and growing for decades. Others are brand new.
During the late 19th and early 20th century, New Jersey was the nation's brewing capital, so New Jersey hosts several beer festivals: Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival, Garden State BrewFest, Hollystock, Glassboro Craft Beer Festival, Asbury Park Beer Fest, Annual International Great Beer Expo. These festivals combine beer tasting, music, arts and crafts. Annual Highlands Oktoberfest and Oktoberfest on Historic Jackson Street combine beer tasting with a celebration of German heritage. New Jersey music festivals cover every genre of music. The Keyport Screamin' Country Jamboree focuses on country/western music. The Long Branch Jazz and Blues Festival has national famous musicians as well as local musicians. Xponential Music Festival features zydeco as well as rock and soul. RiverFest has rock, soul, and R&B. Each of these festivals include fun activities, food, drink, and other entertainment above and beyond the music.
Festivals in New Jersey aren't limited to beer and music. There are also the Annual Azalea Festival, the New Jersey State History Fair, OceanFest, and the Wildwoods International Kite Festival, and Bonnie Brae Scottish Festival.
