The Neshoba County Fair, for instance, has been around since 1889 and brings together the state's political, agricultural, and social apparatus in one event.
Mississippi also has arts and crafts festivals. Festivals in Mississippi from this genre include the Mississippi Craft Show in Jackson, The Art-er Limits Fringe Festival in Oxford, and Zonta's Arts and Crafts Festival in Pascagoula. With Mississippi being well known as the birthplace of the Mississippi Delta blues genre, several Mississippi Music Festivals are centered around the genre like the Bentonia Blues Festival in Bentonia, the Jus' Blues Music Awards Conference in Robinsonville, and the Grassroots Blues Festival in Duck Hill. There is also a festival dedicated to Mississippi native Elvis Presley. The Tupelo Elvis Festival in Tupelo features not only great music, but a carnival, food vendors, a 5k run, and a beauty pageant among others.
