About Festivals, Craft Shows and Fairs in Boston

Massachusetts’ largest city has plenty to attract, amuse and entertain. What many consider to be the cultural capital of America has a thriving arts scene, with crafts, music, movies and more, while the plentiful seafood is enough to sate even the hungriest of appetites. There is history aplenty and loads to keep you busy, including a packed program of events and festivals each and every year.

Boston Wine Expo is one of America’s biggest and booziest wine festivals, with almost 2,000 wines, hundreds of wineries and more than enough opportunities to get your lips around some delicious tipples. The event also features demonstrations, seminars, workshops, top chefs and plenty of food to go along with the vino vibe. It’s a fantastic place to learn about wine production, wine creation and how to properly taste… and if that doesn’t take your fancy, then the ample servings of brand-new batches most likely will!

Boston Harborfest celebrates the maritime and colonial heritage of the city and the region, and considers itself to be one of the most patriotic events in the US calendar. For six days, fun is offered for all the family, with walking tours, history lessons, exhibitions, cruises, sealife, ships, food, drinks, performances and more. There are more than a hundred activities, and the highlights typically include live music, special culinary offerings and the grand opening ceremony. It’s fun, it’s interesting and it’s a great way to learn about the city!

More family fun is available at Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular, which is one of the biggest Independence Day celebrations in the whole of the states. You can expect parades, concerts, fireworks and food, with around half a million attendees each year. It’s a jingoistic affair complete with cannons, drum rolls, overtures and celebrities, and previous artists here have included big names like Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas. Each year, there are more than 10,000 fireworks and even more reasons to attend.

Other parades include the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, a merry medley of mayhem to honour the huge Irish population in the city, and the famous and iconic Gay Pride parade and event. Throughout the year, the city also hosts festivals and events to celebrate and glorify things as varied as boats, Christmas, beer, sports, world cultures and more. Beantown has plenty in store, so come along, get yourself involved and find an event you love!
