Don't you wish there was some way to safely toss those old bank statements -- or those incriminating letters from old girlfriends? If you said yes, The Center has a deal for you. On Saturday, August 7th, The Center is hosting a Shredding Event from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The cost is $6 per 12" x 12" x 15" (standard 1.2 cubic food boxes). I weighed a banker box of paper and it weighed 20 lbs. That would be equivalent to 30 cents per pound. At Staples it costs $1 per pound! Besides being inexpensive, it is easy. Just bring your boxes to The Center and you DO NOT have to remove paper clips, binder clips, hanging file folders, rubber bands and staples and all of the other typical filing fasteners (HOWEVER, you do need to remove the NO. 3 ring binders and dispose of the binder prior to shredding). The shredding container will hold 300 boxes and we will accept boxes of paper until it is filled.
