Our event is a great way to spend a day outdoors and have some winter fun while watching Dog Sled Racing and Ski-joring (a person on skiis pulled by one or two dogs). In addition to the races we have an outdoor Heritage area with pioneer re-enactors and First Nations/Métis historical displays. On the outdoor Heritage stage you will see First Nations dancers, drummers, storytellers, Métis fiddlers etc. Learn about how pioneers lived during the winter and try your hand at throwing a tomahawk! Other activities consist of local artists doing ice sculptures in the park, woodcarving demonstrations, soapstone carving, an ice sculpturing contest on the main street, exotic indoor petting zoo, pony rides, live stage with local artists performing, a tented marketplace, outdoor petting zoo, horse drawn wagon rides through town and an artificial outdoor skating area. There are many interactive family activities such as “Tater Toss”, Big Foot Races, the Toilet Seat Toss, snowshoeing, kicksledding, zorbs, tubing and tobogganing. There are public dog sled rides available also. Saturday night is our Comedy Night in the Ontario Craft Beer Garden area and this year we have Elvira Kurt headlining!
