About Festivals in Ontario

Ontario is a great place to visit, but when there's a festival in town it makes the entire experience come alive. The festivals in Ontario can range from great music to arts to culinary to those that explore the heritage and cultural traditions.

Ontario music festivals are headlined by the New Music Festival and the TD Toronto Jazz Festival. Both events draw a number of big name acts. If classical is more your style of music plan on the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival. Canada's largest free music festival is the Sound of Music Festival featuring a week of live music spanning all genres.

Foodies will flock to the Ontario Ribfest. Maple syrup festivals are numerous across the region as are festivals showcasing other locally grown delicacies. Canadians are keen gardeners and there are festivals throughout the year following the blooming time of flowers like tulips, peonies and roses.

Ontario events also can be celebrations of the country's heritage like Pow wows celebrating native peoples. There are festivals for many other ethnic groups as well. The Salsa dance festival is popular among the many events dedicated to dance in all it's forms from ballet to modern.
