It is with heavy hearts that we must cancel our June, 2020 Lucasville Trade Days event. We had formally sought permission to open the event from the Scioto County Health Department, and they told us they had not made a decision. A few days later we were told that they needed to meet with the Scioto County Prosecutor’s office, to get some legal questions answered. Then late Wednesday afternoon, June 3rd, 2020, we were told that the meeting did occur, but no decision had been made yet.
Now it is Thursday, June 4th, 2020…just one week and a day before our vendors are scheduled to arrive and set up. We still do not have a decision. In effect, the delay is the same result as being told “no,” since there is no longer enough time to put this event together.
This result is as upsetting to us as it is to just about everyone else. Other similar events are open all across the state of Ohio, yet ours is not permitted to open.
We will be rolling all vendor’s space-reservation payments to our September 26 & 27 event. Hopefully decisions will finally have been made by then.
