Melbourne Comedy's Rising Stars presents

MICHAEL SHAFAR is Jewish-ish

As seen on SBS's RAW Comedy, the Laugh Factory's Funniest Person in the World Competition and Channel 31’s The Leak. As heard on ABC Radio, Triple R, Joy FM and SYN FM. Writer for Channel 10's The Project.

After a sell-out season at Melbourne Fringe Festival, Michael Shafar debuts Jewish-ish at Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Michael is one of the country’s fastest emerging comics having toured around Australia and headlined in New Zealand, Asia and the US. He also happens to be Jewish, which is something he will probably mention on stage.

Michael is a 2016 RAW Comedy National Finalist, hosts the constantly sold-out Melbourne Comedy’s Rising Stars and performs to sell-out crowds in 3 Course Comedy. He also hosted Channel 31’s The Leak, is the creator of the satirical webpage Round Squares and writes for Channel 10's The Project.

In 2015, Michael graduated from Monash University with degrees in law and biomedical science. He soon realised that he never wanted to use either of those degrees. In his debut show, Michael reveals how he came to that realisation and brings a Jewish-ish perspective to politics, religion and bagels.

It’s stand-up comedy from the mean streets of East St Kilda.
