For our 2nd concert we are very proud to welcome back our very own You Knew Me When! We are blessed as a community to not only have very talented artists as friends and neighbors, but also wonderful community members who care about Ouray!
Outfitted with an array of instruments, You Knew Me When is a husband and wife folk-rock pairing with a full band sound. Based in Ouray, CO, by way of Nashville, TN, the duo have toured nationally since June of 2012 throughout North America sharing their collective sound. Now touring in support of their fourth studio album "Songs of the San Juans", You Knew Me When continue to create and serve up an array of Colorado inspired compositions coast to coast.
The Music of You Knew Me When parades between a fusion of progressive indie-rock and folk compositions all infused with a myriad of pulsing and stirring beats. WRNC Radio stated, "There is such a natural talent to You Know Me When and for the first time in quite awhile it may be a sound that is truly unique, or at least different in these musical times." While blending their vocals, Karisa, who previously served as a tenured Nashville Public School music teacher and who now serves as the Music Teacher at Ouray School, provides the piano, ukulele, glockenspiel, and percussion, as Cie, who spent several years as the Global Events Production Manager for Gibson Guitar, supplies the guitar and other rhythmic nuances. The cumulative result is a musical style that blends a singer-songwriter soul with a rock n' roll mentality.
Opening the evening we warmly welcome another local duo Heather and Douglas! Long summer days, good people, music and these amazing mountains? We're in! We'll bring our guitars and a bass, tell some stories and make harmony. Can't wait!
Food, beer, wine, spirits and our famous margarita's will be available for purchase. This is a free, outdoor, and family friendly event, so no outside alcohol, no marijuana in the park and dogs must be leashed and waste cleaned up. Please plan to support your favorite local non-profits and vendors with great food and beverages for sale.
