Shearing Day is Saturday. On Sunday, learn to felt an alpaca item. Phone Suzanne at 503-348-6954 to reserve a spot. $25-$75 covers your materials and instruction.
Both days, you can shop for teddy bears, sweaters, scarves, & other alpaca products, many hand-crafted.
Hand-spinners, knitters, & other fiber artists will find fleece and yarn. Many of the yarns are in one of the alpacas’ natural colors, spun from the fleece of a single animal. Bring your camera and get a shot of the alpaca who provided the raw material for your next project.
Visitors can chat with four long-time livestock breeders who've raised llamas, horses, sheep, and goats. They've found that alpacas are a perfect match for owners of small acreages or for crafters looking for their own four-legged fiber producers. Both farms offer alpacas for sale along with boarding options.
