This family-friendly festival honoring Suffolk's agriculture heritage and devotion to peanuts will celebrate its 40th anniversary with exciting midway rides for all ages, live music, a demolition derby, silent disco, exhibits, crafts, contests, bingo, carnival games, favorite fair food and Saturday night fireworks.
Festival highlights include the Peanut Fest Demolition Derby (7 pm Fri.), Cornhole Tournament (1 pm Sat.), Big Daddy Motorsports Mud Jam (1 pm Sat.), Peanut Butter Sculpture Contest (2 pm Sat.), Michael Ray concert (8:15 pm Sat.) and Joe Nichols concert (3:30 pm Sun.)
Festival admission is $10 and free for children ages 6 and younger. On Carload Thursday, admission and unlimited rides are $40 per car, van or truck for up to 8 legally seated passengers.
Ride tickets are $1.50 each, $25 for 20 tickets, or $50 for 50 tickets plus 1 free ride. Rides take 3 or more tickets each. Unlimited ride wristbands are available on Sunday for $30 each, or $25 with a $5 coupon printed from the website.
Festival hours are 2 to 10:30 pm Thursday, 10 am to 11 pm Friday - Saturday, and 10 am to 7 pm Sunday.
