About Festivals, Craft Shows and Fairs in UK

The royal and regal UK has a number of attractions, from the cosmopolitan and multicultural capital of London to the remote and beautiful Scottish Highlands. The UK also hosts a number of varied and exciting festivals throughout the year, with plenty of food, music, films and fun.

The UK is home to thousands of iconic musicians, singers and songwriters, and has a vibrant music scene. This includes a number of festivals, the most famous of which is undoubtedly Glastonbury. This five-day bonanza offers dozens of live stages, attracting almost 200,000 people every year. The event hosts the absolute best of the musical world - names like Radiohead, The Smiths, Kanye West and Beyoncé have previously played here. The event also supports upcoming acts and promotes dance, comedy, theatre, cabaret and arts. Other music festivals in the UK include Leeds Festival, Reading Festival, V Festival and Isle of Wight Festival. The range of music on offer spans from big-name headliners through to genre-specific festivals and others which exclusively promote independent, unique and obscure stuff along with bohemian vibes.

The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is one of the most celebrated events in the world, and takes place for around one month each year. This event delivers around 50,000 theatre performances, with traditional stuff alongside comedy, dance, circus, spoken word, children’s shows and more. The majority of these performances are from new and upcoming minds in the theatre world, and a large portion of them are free of charge, so it’s a fantastic way to see challenging, unique and independent theatre without breaking the bank! The atmosphere in the city during the festival is very interesting, with many outdoor site-specific performances and buskers marking every corner.

Other arts festivals in the UK promote arts, crafts, theatre, ballet, cinema and loads more. The cultural and creative heritage in the UK is very rich, and the festival scene reflects this. The UK also has a booming food trade, with many tasty festivals each year, including Taste of London, North East Chilli Fest and Abergavenny Food Festival.

The UK also hosts a number of weird and wacky festivals, including the Viking-themed Up Helly Aa, the world’s biggest and longest football game, the Cheese-Rolling Festival (in which participants chase cheese down a hill!), and plenty more.
