About Festivals, Craft Shows and Fairs in Vermont

Forward-thinking Vermont is a haven for nature lovers, with opportunities aplenty to ski, hike, bike and swim, and an ever-changing landscape that defies description. Whether you like trails, slopes, forests or something else, you’ll find it here. The Green Mountain state also offers a jam-packed program of exciting events and festivals throughout the year, and provides something appealing for every adventurous visitor.

Vermont holds many snow-covered winter festivals, the most famous of which is probably Stowe Winter Carnival. Every year, for two weeks in January, Stowe is overtaken with travellers young and old, all keen to sample the wintry delights of snowy Stowe. The festival features sports events, ice carving competitions, tournaments, snow golf, ice fishing, snow volleyball and plenty more wacky and wild attractions. Kids’ entertainment includes bouncy castles, costumed characters, DJs and games while adults can treat themselves to a scrumptious selection of local foods and artisan wines and beers. Wrap up warm and fight off the chill!

Vermont Maple is another friendly-family affair, with plenty of attractions for all ages. For fifty years, the event has been delivering bundles of sweetness to comers from all over the USA. The event of course celebrates the appetizing applications of mouth-watering maple, with ample offerings of syrup along with syrup-infused cakes, treats, sweets and more. If it has maple in it, you’ll find it here. You will also discover antiques, shows, parades, live music, comedy, craft beer, arts, crafts, contests, tastings and kids’ entertainment. There’s no better way to gulp down a sugar rush and have a good time.

More food and drink are offered at Stowe’s romping, stomping Oktoberfest, complete with oompah bands and Bavarian beers, while Plymouth Cheese and Harvest Festival is a more low-key event, but still full to the brim with a smorgasbord of lip-smacking culinary offerings.

Strolling of the Heifers Parade and Festival is a bovine bonanza of old-fashioned fun, with around 50,000 attendees each year. The event features parades, performances, floats, music, local food and loads more, with a firm focus on cultivation, organic food and supporting local people and produce. If you like local grub, this’ll fill your belly.

Other festivals in Vermont offer things as diverse as arts, crafts, jazz, fish, quilts, balloons, apples, horses, heritage and history. Clamber up to Vermont, pitch up your tent and treat yourself to a few fun-filled days!
