The Sweet Auburn Festival has been a standing tradition for many years in the Auburn Street Historic District. Known as the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,this festival celebrates the history of the area as well as the arts. The festival is held every May and lasts for a full three days. Five different sound stages are continually filled with local and national artists, vendors from around the area line the streets with their booths, and visitors will find a world class selection of food to enjoy. This festival is considered one of the most prominent cultural festivals in the Southeast.
