About Festivals, Craft Shows and Fairs in Dallas

The Big D conjures up images of excess and size, cowboys and culture, money and museums. It’s a giant city with history and heritage, and a whole lot in store for visitors and locals. This includes a range of festivals and events, with plenty to keep you excited and entertained.

The North Texas Irish Festival is one of the biggest events in the region, and celebrates Irish culture and entertainment, featuring musicians, dancers and cultural displays. There are also plays, workshops, demonstrations and performances. Many of the performers come all the way from Ireland, so it’s a real slice of genuine and authentic life. There are also attractions which hark back to the rural roots of the country, with sheep herding, whiskey tasting, themed food, clan appearances and local brews and beers. Bring your leprechauns and join the fun!

Greenville Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade also offers more Irish fun, with themed floats, dancers and musicians.

Savor Dallas is perhaps the biggest food festival in the state, and is a huge celebration of food, drink and gastronomic culture. You’ll find snacks, meals, wine, beer, spirits and a selection of some top-class chefs and eateries. The Grand Tasting event is the headline occasion, and offers comers a chance to sample a large range of local and international produce. But you’ll also find samples aplenty throughout the whole festival, with tasting menus and free morsels to whet your palate. Some sessions also offer lessons in tasting, which help and teach you to savour the flavours of your favourite food and wine. With hundreds of foods and over 50 chefs, you can’t go wrong.

Dallas Blooms is one of the biggest floral events in the whole of the states, and offers plants, flowers, shrubs, trees, perennials, annuals and seasonal offerings for green-fingered fiends to peruse, buy and learn about. You’ll find hundreds of thousands of blooms and blossoms, so it’s bigger than your average garden. The festival includes almost 70 acres of flowery fun, and also offers food, drinks, music, live entertainment and education. Purchase some plants, get your hands dirty and whiff the scents!

Throughout the city, you’ll find plenty more festivals to keep you busy, with rodeos, a mardi gras, theatre, films, arts, culture, trucks, animals and more. Dallas does it big and does it better, and its abundant offerings of festivals is testament to it. Come get involved!
